Gravity and Quantum
I have joined Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science on 29th August, 2019 as a Faculty Fellow. I am currently working on various aspects of gravitational physics, but have moved to both theories at the interface of gravity and quantum as well as observational aspects of gravitational theories.
The research topic I worked on are as follows:
The research topic I worked on are as follows:
- Black hole physics with Fermions;
- Imprint of zero point length on cosmology;
- Geometrical properties of a spacetime with a zero point length;
- Quantum fields in curved spacetime, in particular I am interested in entanglement entropy;
- Gravitational memory effect;
- Properties and characterization of null surfaces;
- The gravity thermodynamics connection in theories beyond general relativity;
- Alternative gravity theories and various astrophysical probes of the same;
- Gravitational waves in extra-dimensional models and in modified gravity theories;
- Higher Spin theories and possible Particle phenomenology.
Inside Gravity
I had worked as a INSPIRE Faculty in Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science from 31st August, 2018 to 28th August, 2019. I had worked on some aspects of gravitational physics.
The research topic I worked on are as follows:

Understanding Gravity
I was in IACS from 6th April, 2017 to 30th August, 2018 as a National Post-Doctoral Fellow, while I was associated with this institute from 25th October, 2016 as Research Associate.
The research topics I have worked on are as follows:

I have received my Ph.D. degree on 23rd February, 2017. The title of my Ph.D. thesis is ``Classical and Quantum Aspects of Gravity In Relation to The Emergent Paradigm". The work presented in the thesis has been done under guidance of Prof. T. Padmanabhan in theoretical physics at IUCAA.
A pdf file of my thesis is here. If you are enthusiastic enough to learn about my graduate school project, you can find it here. Research areas covered in my PhD thesis include:

Down The Memory Lane
Becoming a MasterJoining the Physics Department of Calcutta University was a wonderful experience. During my M.Sc. at the Physics department my thirst for learning physics experienced an overwhelming growth from the experienced and research motivated professors at the department. Finally on completion of my M.Sc. with first rank in the University I left this department seeking for a new future.
During M.Sc. I did a research project under guidance of Prof. Soumitra SenGupta. A pdf file of the report is available here. |
Presi, you are the bestAfter school I joined Presidency College (now Presidency University) in its prestigious Physics Department.
There I complete my B.Sc. in the year of 2011 standing first in the college and as well as in the University and left the college with some exciting memories of the exciting teachers with Physics as the guiding principle. |
School DaysMy Journey in the academic world started as I got admitted to Jodhpur Park Boy's School, one of the leading school in Kolkata.
I have been there for twelve long years. Starting from primary education to higher secondary, ultimately leaving my school, childhood memories in 2008. |
